About Us ::

Founded in 1965, Vashon Thriftway is locally owned and operated by the Mathews family. The goal of the business over the years has been to deliver the highest quality goods and services to the community of Vashon Island at competitive market prices.

Community involvement has been a very important part of our retail business. Participation in many events, from Little League Baseball sponsorship, Allied Arts, local school events, to helping with the Island Food Bank, Vashon Senior Center and Fireman's Association -- all show our commitment to the friendly, caring, small-town atmosphere we enjoy. And of course, the friendliest employees in town -- always ready with a smile.

We invite you to stop by and visit us. If you're new to the island community, stop by and introduce yourself. We'd love to get to know you.

Vashon Thriftway is located in the heart of town, just a few minutes from either the North or South end ferry dock.

If you're coming from Seattle, take the Vashon ferry from Fauntleroy in West Seattle. You can also take the ferry from Tacoma; just follow the signs from Highway 16 to Point Defiance.
